Exciting Full Ace news - the new enhanced version will launch Feb 28th on Steam! Finally! Yay!!

The game will release on Wednesday, Feb 28th at 10am PST / 7pm CET and it could use all the support it can get right around launch. Steam is a very crowded marketplace these days - we expect around 15 to 25 other games to be released just on the 28th - and having players play at launch will help others discover Full Ace on the Steam marketplace. Back for Christmas

It's been a long time since the last update on this blog, but we couldn't let Christmas pass without making an update.

In the last months, we have tried new distribution options for Full Ace, and some of you may have noticed a boxed retail version. This hasn't worked as well as we hoped, and was pretty time-consuming. As a consequence, we haven't been able to work on the game as much as we used to.

The new version out today allows players' stats to evolve in the career mode. We also added a textual search box in the player selector, to make it more handful. And there has been some tuning in the gameplay area, and several bug fixes.

Fancy a tennis career ?

Version 5 is just out, and season mode has been upgraded to career mode.

You will of course be able to play multiple seasons in a row, and build your way to the top of the rankings. You will also have to deal with your player's stamina, and let him rest enough between tournaments to stand a chance against your opponents.

We have also improved gameplay and AI in this version. There is also a clearer display of character's stats in the menus.

New balls, more players, more tournaments

Hello tennis fans !

We have just released Full Ace v4. In this version, season mode features nearly 2000 players, more than 500 tournaments, with qualifying draws as well ! Lots of hours of play in front of all our registered players.

We added an other new feature that is more targeted to beginners : there are two new types of balls that are slower and easier to control. It will be more friendly for newcomers willing to get the hang of Full Ace.

DirectX support added

In order to increase Full Ace compatibility with all video hardware, we have added support for DirectX rendering : users may now choose their preferred rendering API between DirectX and OpenGL.

If you have been having problem running Full Ace demo on your computer in the past, now is time to try it again using DirectX. There is a good chance it will work (DirectX is configured by default).

This version also uses multisampling for antialiasing, which gives better results and is more efficient.

Ready for a new challenge ?

Indeed, challenging is now a part of Full Ace ! Many players sought after this addition and we believe it brings a supplementary dimension to the game.

Of course, being able to challenge means that line referees now make occasional mistakes, and it's up to you to correct them ! Whenever the ball bounces close enough to a line (in the middle as well as in the end of a rally), you will be offered the possibility to ask for an electronic confirmation. That is, if you haven't run out of challenges yet !

New look for 2011 !

Here is the brand new Full Ace for 2011 !

Overall visual aspect of the game has been improved, with shader rendering, normal maps, shadow maps, and antialiasing. Of course, you will need above average hardware to enjoy them all. But don't worry, you may disable them all if it is too much for your PC to take, and some optimizations make it actually even faster than previous versions when all is disabled.

When playing outdoor, sun lighting now evolves along the game. You may see shadows stretching and the court slowly falling in the shadow of the stands.

Another great news for 2011 : ITST has launched an online tour dedicated to Full Ace. It is up and running already, and congrats to Tonigno who was the first Full Ace online tournament winner. This is an achievement he'll never be deprived of !
